Orchestral Violins

Below is a selection of the intermediate to professional orchestral violins we currently have in stock.  Our orchestral violins are suitable for professional players, experienced amateurs and collectors.

Further details, and photographs are available for some instruments by selecting the links on the makers names below.  For prices or other information, please contact us via our Contact Us page.

Gand and Bernadel This is a very good example in very good condition. Made in 1881, the violin has an extraordinary power but still with a flexible tone. Whilst there are quite a few violins in existence from this maker you will be troubled to find such a good one in such fine condition as this.
Michetti Turin A good example by Plinio Michetti of Turin. Good condition.
Tetsuya Kimura From Japan, we have a Bergonzi modeled violin in stock at present made by Tetsuya Kimura.
Felix Foucher, 1917, no. 112 One of very few surviving examples, this violin is in good condition and has good provenance. Apparently inspired by Naples making, it has a one piece back and is signed on the inner table as well as a signed label.
Nowak New and very interesting violin by Steffen Nowak of Bristol
Delille Master Henri Delille master, Bosnian maple and spruce
Albert Deblaye, 1936 French violine by Albert Deblaye, 1936 of Mirecourt
Charles Tweedale, 1921 A good example of this makers work.
August Delunet (WE Hill) An excellent violin showing elements of French and English schools, with something unmistakably Hills about the overall impression.
French Laberte workshop, labelled Clotelle
Michael Hatting, 1994 Amati Strad model
James Thompson, 1810 More naive in style than other instruments of James Thompson.  Works particularly well for period performances.
Whitmarsh Violin by Emanuel Whitmarsh, London
Louis Genin, 1906 Good French violin in excellent condition.
Steffen Nowak, after Guarneri del Gesu, 1737 A baroque violin made by Steffen in 2006 after Guarneri del Gesu 1737 (the ex - Joachim).  The instrument speaks very well indeed and it is also really nicely made and varnished.
