Bow Rehairs

Violin bow rehairs are carried out each Wednesday - please have your bow with us by 12 noon.

We have several grades of hair and are constantly resourcing hair supplies seeking out the best quality.

At present we are using a strong white Italian hair for cello and bass bows, a very fine Canadian hair or selected Mongolian for violin bows, and a third, Mongolian hair for general student bows.

We are also happy to hair baroque bows for which we sometimes use a very fine Siberian hair.

We support the International Pernambuco Conservation Initiative. From April 2007, £1.00 from every bow rehaired will go towards this worthwhile charity which is working hard to re-establish Pernambuco in its native Brazil, and to secure the long term sustainable use of this precious wood.
